City Piazza is an oasis of calm; it delivers as its name suggests: an Italian garden like public space in the middle of a busy city centre district.
All the properties are set around this well maintained space and this property benefits from not one but two of its own private terraces. This generously proportioned property is one of the quietest spaces I have ever visited.
About the Apartment
Positioned on the second floor, the reception room and large open plan kitchen benefit from an unusual large curved wall facing the courtyard and doors to the first larger terrace. The bedroom has excellent storage space and steps out onto its own second terrace for that morning coffee required before facing the day. There is a modernised fully tiled bathroom and the property is offered on a furnished basis to allow for the convenience required by hard working corporate tenants. Internal floorspace extends to 579sq ft (54 sqm).
About the Building
City Piazza sits on the site of a Cold Store that had been designed by Gilbert Bath of Chelsea and latterly used as a car park, it was demolished in 1998 and replaced with the current development.
But it’s the location that brings the real draw. Being on Britton St, one of the oldest streets in Clerkenwell, it enjoys one of the best positions in the area. The miniscule Jerusalem Tavern next door is said to be the oldest pub in London and serves craft ales.
Once you have finished your “one for the road”, Farringdon station can be reached within a 2 minute brisk walk where a wealth of transport facilities awaits you. Despite the recently announced delay to Crossrail’s Elizabeth line, Thameslink trains direct to Luton and Gatwick airports as well as one stop to St Pancras International can be made use of. Three underground lines are also available in the form of Hammersmith and City, Metropolitan and Circle line services.
About the Area
Cowcross Street has various shops, restaurants and bars and there is always Fabric for the late nighter or a good choice of supermarkets including Waitrose for the home nester.
This one bedroom property is available to rent for £480 per week, subject to contract
